Access gates
There are access gates to Skardsfjella and Hyllingsdalen in the south at Vauldalen mountain hotel just by the national border, Torsvollen at Hyllingsdalen and in Stugudal one at Stugudal camping. At the entrance gates you will find parking and signs with information about the protected conservation areas. Information boards are also found in the center of Brekken in Røros municipality, in Stugudalen town center, and at the 705 Center in Ås in Tydal municipality. The gateways
Vauldalen Mountain Hotel
It is located south of the area and has a network of paths and roads that extend northward into the Skardsfjella and Hyllingsdalen landscape conservation areas. Parking is available at the hotel or in the parking lot by the snowmobile track just east of the hotel.
Today, there are information boards at both locations. Plans are underway to upgrade the information boards at Vauldalen Mountain Hotel. South from the hotel, the path starts towards the mountain Viglen and on to Femundsmarka National Park.
Torsvollen
The entrance gate is located at the start of Hyllingsdalsveien. You will find an information board here, as well as a parking lot, a picnic area and an outdoor toilet.
Motorized traffic is prohibited on Hyllingdalsveien. Electric bicycles are not allowed in the conservation area, but you can cycle with a regular bike or head inland. Lake Hyllingen is excellent for canoeing, and there is information about canoe rentals in the parking lot.
Stugudal camping
The entrance gate is located at the south end of Lake Stugusjøen. Here, you will find a parking lot and a blue-marked trail towards Møsjødalen. The campsite only offers permanent pitches.
There is currently an information board here, and an upgrade of the entrance gate is planned.
Stugudal town center
During the tourist season, the tourist information is open, including information about the protected areas. Nearby is a restaurant, shop, and toilet. The area has starting points for blue-marked trails, the pilgrim’s trail, and ski/snowmobile trails.
A joint information point for the Sylan landscape conservation area and the Skardsfjella and Hyllingsdalen landscape conservation area is currently being planned.
Information point at Brekken town center
There is currently an information board about the conservation area at the youth center in the town center.
A joint information point is planned here for the Skardsfjella and Hyllingsdalen landscape conservation areas, Sølendet Nature Reserve, and Femundsmarka National Park.
Information point in Ås i Tydal
At 705 Center, there is a joint information point for Skarvan and Roltdalen National Park, Sylan Landscape Conservation Area, and Skardsfjella and Hyllingsdalen Landscape Conservation Area.
There are information boards outdoors and an exhibition indoors connected to the conservation administration offices.
